Classification of lithium batteries
Lithium batteries can be roughly divided into two categories: lithium ion batteries and polymer batteries
1, according to the practical performance of lithium battery classification
According to the practical performance of lithium batteries can be divided into ordinary energy storage capacity type and power rate type. The power rate type has the characteristics of high density and high power output. Power ratio batteries are increasing with the advent of electric hybrid vehicles. It requires the battery to store high kinetic energy, can be adapted to the distance of pure electric vehicles, and also has good output power characteristics, in low power mode into the hybrid mode. Like the 18650 cylindrical power battery can be divided into 3C and 5C rates, or higher rates, which means that its own discharge current can reach 3 times and 5 times its own capacity, or more times. Some manufacturers produce high-quality 3C battery discharge rate can even reach 5C, 5C multiplier can reach 8C. The energy storage type has the characteristics of high density and large capacity, and is generally used in electrical equipment with low discharge current requirements. The difference between them is the difference in discharge current and capacity.
2. Classify according to electrolyte material
Lithium batteries are divided into lithium-ion lithium batteries (Li-ion) and polymer lithium batteries (Li-PO). The raw material of lithium-ion batteries is electrolyte (liquid or colloid); The raw materials of polymer lithium batteries are electrolytes, polymer electrolytes (solid or colloidal) and organic electrolytes.
3. Categorize by product type
Divided into: cylinder, soft bag, square. Cylindrical and square outer packaging is often made of aluminum or aluminum. Soft pack packaging is aluminum plastic film, the shape of the soft pack battery is not like the cylindrical and square battery fixed, can be customized according to demand, soft pack battery is also known as polymer lithium battery. The specifications of the cylindrical lithium-ion battery are composed of five digits, the first two are the diameter, and the middle two are the height (length). The last zero represents a cylinder, measured in millimeters. For example, the 18650 lithium-ion battery has a diameter of 18 mm, a height of 65 mm, and a cylindrical battery.
4. According to the electrode material
Battery cathode materials: lithium cobalt, lithium manganate, lithium nickel, ternary (lithium nickel-cobalt manganate), lithium iron phosphate, etc., have been used. The negative active materials are mainly graphitized carbon materials, amorphous carbon materials, nitrides, silicon-based materials, new alloys and other materials. Secondary components: do not directly participate in the electrode reaction, but can improve the conductivity and processing performance of the battery. There are mainly collector fluid, adhesive and conductive agent.
