Do electric scooters use batteries or lithium batteries?

Electric scooters usually use lithium batteries as their power source, rather than traditional lead-acid batteries. Lithium battery is a kind of high energy density, lightweight, long life rechargeable battery, because of its advantages in electric scooters and other portable electric vehicles are widely used.
There are two common types of lithium batteries used in electric scooters:

Lithium-ion batteries (Li-ion): Lithium-ion batteries are the most common type of lithium battery, with a high energy density and a long life. They are widely used in electric scooters, providing an efficient and lightweight power source.

Lithium polymer batteries (LiPo): Lithium polymer batteries are another type of lithium battery that has a higher energy density and thinner form compared to lithium-ion batteries. Due to its flexible packaging form, lithium polymer batteries are also used in some electric scooters, which can better adapt to different shaped scooter designs.

Lithium batteries are popular in electric scooters because they provide high energy density, making the scooters have a long driving range, and relatively light weight, helping to improve the handling and portability of the scooters. In addition, lithium batteries also have a low self-discharge rate, that is, after a long period of parking, the battery loses less power.

In general, lithium batteries have become the preferred battery type for electric scooters and many other portable electric vehicles, as they offer excellent performance and portability for these devices.
