What is lithium ion battery electrolyte
Electrolyte is an ionic conductor for conducting between the positive and negative electrodes of lithium-ion batteries. It is composed of electrolyte lithium salt, high-purity organic solvent and necessary additives in a certain proportion. It plays a crucial role in the energy density, power density, wide temperature use, cycle life and safety performance of lithium-ion batteries. As the blood of lithium-ion batteries, electrolyte bears the heavy responsibility of transporting lithium ions. Its quality will directly affect the performance of lithium-ion batteries, and also affect the safety of lithium-ion batteries to a certain extent.
Lithium ion battery electrolyte is composed of three parts
1. Solvent: cyclic carbonate (PC, EC); Chain carbonate (DEC, DMC, EMC); Carboxylic acid esters (MF, Ma, EA, Ma, MP, etc.) (used to dissolve lithium salts).
2. Lithium salt: LiPF6, LiClO4, LiBF4, liasf6, etc.
3. Additives: film forming additives, conductive additives, flame retardant additives, overcharge protection additives, additives for controlling H2O and HF content in electrolyte, additives for improving low temperature performance, and multifunctional additives.
