Why customize a lithium battery pack? What are the five main aspects of customized industrial lithium batteries?
At present, more and more lithium batteries need to be customized. The customization of lithium batteries appears for the equipment with special needs of lithium batteries. At present, lithium batteries have been applied in all walks of life. Generally, the lithium battery products used in our daily life are not customized, but those industrial grade lithium batteries need to be customized.
What is a custom battery?
Battery customization is a very content of technology, according to the specific needs of customers, evaluation of a new battery model, compared with the traditional standardized cylindrical battery, such as 18650,21700, need to take into account the production process of the battery factory, the control of materials, and whether there is a rich program experience. In general, we will make customization based on five major requirements provided by users:
1. Battery shape
The size and shape of the battery can be customized. Besides the different sizes of length, width and height, it can also be made into a circle, trapezoid, triangle and other shapes.
2. Capacity
Based on the power consumption of the product, whether the battery capacity can meet the battery life requirements of users is calculated.
3. Multiplier
Some special products will have certain requirements on the multiplier, such as electronic cigarettes, drones, automobile emergency start power supply, electric supercars, large current charging and discharging performance is the primary consideration of the battery, to meet the needs of fast charging or high explosive power.
4. Temperature
The optimal operating temperature of lithium battery is about 25℃, and the general operating temperature range is -20℃ to 50℃. However, if the capacity of lithium battery is in a special high and low temperature environment, the capacity of lithium battery will decline sharply, affecting its life, or even unable to be used normally. Therefore, special customized high temperature lithium battery or low temperature lithium battery is needed. 5. Voltage
Generally, the full charge voltage of lithium battery is 4.2V. In order to improve energy density and higher battery life, more and more product designers will use high-voltage lithium battery (LiHv). For example, the latest series of mobile phones of Apple use 4.35V high-voltage lithium polymer battery to increase battery life. But it depends on the appliance and PCB scheme.
